Polar Express

We went to the Polar Express and had a fabulous time! We sang songs, danced and even saw Santa! At first Mackay ran away from Santa, then she stared when he got closer and then screamed when he talked to her. That's OK, because her friend Payton did the same thing. He is kinda scary if you think about it. We had a wonderful time and plan on making it a tradition.

Gamers

As you can see from the pictures, we have some serious gamers in the family. My favorite game is Guitar Hero. Hunter plays on expert and does not even miss a note. Did I mention he also does it with a broken arm? It is amazing to watch. I have always had a little gamer in me, I love my PSP with poker and pinball games on it and I am addicted to our Wii with Guitar Hero. It looks as if Mackay is following in my footsteps. Today, I got video of her playing Guitar Hero. She actually knows how to strum.

Biltmore, North Carolina

This November we traveled to North Carolina to celebrate two birthdays. My mothers and my nephews. While there we ate lunch at the Grove Park Inn and toured the Biltmore Estate. We had a great time hanging out with my now teenage nephew.

Our little genie did some belly dancing at trunk-or-treat. While dancing, she must have wiggled her nose and made a wish because we won the contest for most creative trunk.

Halloween

Happy Halloween! Due to the fact that Mackay loves showing everyone her belly button, we decided to dress her up as a genie. Her Mimi was nice enough to make the costume that showed off her favorite asset. This year we did something a little different. Instead of going door to door trick-or-treating, we decorated the trunk of our car and went trunk-or-treating. Since Mackay went as a genie, we decorated our trunk as the inside of a genie bottle. We even had the theme song from I dream of Jenie playing. We had a great time!

Cruising the Gulf of Mexico

Last week we went on our first cruise. It was a 5 night cruise that departed from New Orleans and went to Progresso, Mexico and Cozumel. Jim and I had a good time, but Mackay had a great time! She liked splashing the water that ran over from the pool, dancing on the deck and she was crazy about the beach. I learned to make towel animals and Jim helped Mackay make her new favorite friend, Barkley, the build a bear black lab. We look forward to our next cruise next summer to Alaska.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch with our Sunday school class and had a great time. Grandma is in town visiting and she came with us to pumpkin hunt. Mimi and Peepaw also came with us. We looked at pumpkins, sat on hay bails and even rode Thomas the train. Afterwards we went toBabe's Chicken and ate fried chicken, mashed potatos and creamed corn. Mackay danced the hokey pokey with the servers and laughed at everyones jokes.

Mackay poses for the camera. She is such a ham.

A Masterson favorite

Believe it or not, but I have mastered the art of cooking. Well, at least one meal. So much so that people went up for seconds and thirds and Jim even ate it as leftovers. So I will share the recipe.

Enchilada Casserole

1 1/2 ground turkey (or soy crumbles for vegetarians)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 package of taco seasoning
1 8oz. can of tomato sauce
2 cans of cream of chicken soup (or mushroom soup for vegetarians)
1 can chopped green chilies
1/2 cup milk
1 package corn tortillas
1/2 pound cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 pound monterey jack cheese (shredded)

Brown meat and onions. Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, green chilies, soups and milk. Heat until bubbly. In greased casserole dish, layer tortillas, meat sauce and cheese. Repeat until out of meat sauce. End with cheese on top. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy.

Mackay goes mudding

At the recent neighborhood garage sale, I found the most perfect gift for Mackay. It is a pink Barbie Jeep with boombox. She is unable to reach the gas pedal to make it go, but she loves just sitting in it and listening to her bombox and pointing out the airplanes as the fly over. When she sees her Jeep in the garage, she lets out a squeel of excitement. Just wait until she figures out that the gas pedal makes it move.
